Legionellosis

Legionella bacteria are found naturally in freshwater environments, like lakes and streams, and can become a health concern when it grows and spreads in manmade water systems (e.g., showerheads, cooling towers, hot tubs). This bacteria can cause a serious type of pneumonia called Legionnaires disease or a less serious illness called Pontiac fever.
